History

Sic-Bo literally means "to play with two bricks", alluding to the two dice; this is curious since the game is played with three dice. Has its origin in ancient China. The game begun being played by the lowest chastes, and was for many time despised by the high class and the nobles; this fact doesn´t means too much because their customs were in many cases grazing with excentricity.

This is really true; in the battles, the troops had to be aligned according to social status, in that way the members of the higher classes couldn´t had to fight with plebians. The battlefield were decided before by the two sides, and people was sent to smooth the ground, so the carriages (of exclusibe usage by nobility) couldn´t suffer shameful falls which could left ridiculous to nobles, in addition to their deaths.

The game is known in the Phillipines as "Tai Sai" or "Hi Lo". In Macao is known as "Dai Siu", which means "big - small", referring to its most common bet. The game were spreading, with the time, through southeastern Asia, Korea, China, and then into the West through the 19th century migrations. It is today one of the less known table games, and is commonly played in casinos in special rooms for asian games.
